Heatcatcher are proud to be supporting the Delivering Net Zero Ceramics UK event again this year with the CEO Darren Bryant, offering his insights on “Bridging the Technology Gap” to achieve Net Zero.
The Ceramics UK Industry Decarbonisation Roadmap perceives how the range of companies in the sector will need to adopt different technologies playing out over different timeframes, with efficiency measures, renewables and grid decarbonisation being a particular focus for the shorter-term.
At present the sector is predominantly using natural gas, some electricity, with a few on bio-energy, with a breadth of process types and a big variation in scales of site production and emissions. The sector ranges from brand-new state-of the art plant, through to much older sites with kilns towards the end of their operational life. Some sites have full-automation to more traditional handmade craft techniques, plus some very unique processes thrown in the mix too!
This wide variation of sector challenges requires a tailored approach and understanding of the best available technology match towards the Net Zero target. Heatcatchers goal is to support the Ceramics UK members on their journey to Heat Decarbonisation with the design and implementation of heat recovery and heat pump electrification projects.
